There's a good chance you’ll meet me when visiting Thrive. when not seeing my own patients I can be found running around planting flowers or plunging toilets! I’m often at the front desk greeting visitors and chatting about our Mission. If you don’t see me always feel free to drop me a line.
In 2009, I became the Owner of THRIVE: A Collaborative of Comprehensive Therapies, the beginning of my vision to bring together like-minded practitioners of varied backgrounds and treatment modalities into one space, sharing professional resources and offering patients a larger scope of treatment for their entire self, what I call “A Whole Life Wellness Approach”. After 12 years of learning, growing & cultivating my original vision, I expanded my scope, doubled down on my clinical social work roots and expanded my practice space to allow for this concept to come to complete fruition, Thrive Wellness Collaborative came to be in its new location remaining in East Greenwich gaining three times the square footage including 22 individual offices, many of which are fully accessible, 2 studios and an acre of outdoor space used for a variety of community events and practice space & ample accessible parking.
As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has practiced in a variety of roles within the helping profession since 1995 as a graduate of The Ohio State University. Returning to my Rhode Island roots, this girl from http://westwarwickhighschool.com/ began my professional journey in the area of Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities, spending the first half of my career working with adult populations suffering with chronic and persistent mental illness. It was during these years that my passion for working with the under served, under privileged and minority populations was ignited. My devotion to advocacy, change, growth, equity and support for self determination paved a natural path toward the pursuit of a Master's Degree in the area of Social Work. I received my Master of Social Work degree in 2001 and focused my work as a Medical Social Worker at Women & Infants Hospital, working in the areas of Women’s Primary Care, Pre & Post Natal Care and ultimately finding my calling in the Program of Women's Oncology & Breast Health Center. I spent years of my career integrating both my oncology specialty and medical social work background together, eventually moving solely into private practice work in 2008.
I provide psychotherapy that is both understanding and compassionate above all else. I believe if I can affect change with each of my clients through strength based counseling, insight-oriented cognitive and behavioral interventions and supportive structuring of the environment's in which they live, this is how I can be most helpful. My style is interactive and directive with an eclectic use of psychological theory, mindfulness, reality and humor. If you are interested in speaking with me further to learn more about my practice or to assess your individual needs, please contact me. I welcome the opportunity to speak to you further.
All dedicated team members frequently at Thrive to meet you at the door and likely give you a kiss!
